We welcome you as a client! Once you complete our registration process, you will be able to submit requests for notices immediately. Please note that a major credit card is required (we accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express). Your credit card information will remain on file but will be kept strictly confidential at all times.

Billing Procedures

At the beginning of each month you will receive an invoice for all Pre-lien notices prepared during the prior month. You have the option to pay the invoice by check. If payment is not received by the 10th of the month, we will simply bill your credit card for the invoice amount.

For all collection services, including mechanics' liens, stop notices, bond claims etc. we will charge your credit card in advance of performing these services.

Customer Service Agreement

This Customer Service Agreement (hereinafter "Agreement") contains the terms and conditions for the preparation and mailing of Pre-Lien Notices, Mechanics' Liens, Stop Notices, Bond Claims, Miller Act Notices, other related construction notices, and collection services between Easy Law Construction Notices, A Division of Easy Law, Inc., (hereinafter "Easy Law") and its customers.  Please read the information carefully. You must accept the terms and conditions set forth below before your account can be opened and services provided.  

TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR SERVICE

1. Not counting the day we receive your request, we require a minimum of (5) working days to complete your service requests.  Express service, which is completed within (2) working days, is available for an additional fee.  To calculate the number of days we may take to complete your request, please count the day we receive your request as day zero.  

2. For Pre-Lien Notices, be prepared to provide the following information with your request: (a) a general description of the work, equipment, or materials you are furnishing; (b) the name, address, and telephone number of your customer; (c) the estimated value of your services; (d) the address or legal description of the construction project; (e) the date you started working on the project; and (f) the estimated date for the completion of your work. 

3. Please note that Easy Law will make every reasonable effort to check and verify the information you submit by researching one or more of the available public and private resources including online data bases and telephone calls to your clients and others with information regarding your request.  However, since it is not practical to independently verify the accuracy of the information we obtain Easy Law does not guarantee its accuracy.  Therefore, Easy Law recommends that if your anticipated contract amount is significant and your project is not located in a state which requires a Notice of Commencement that you obtain a title insurance policy with a litigation guarantee and provide that information to Easy Law with your request to ensure that the correct parties receive notice of your potential claim.    

4.  The customer agrees to hold Easy Law, its officers, agents, and employees harmless for any and all claims resulting from any loss, damage or injury, of any and every nature, whatsoever, including special or consequential damages, including attorneys' and/or expert's fees by, resulting from, or in any way connected with the preparation, service and/or recording of Pre-Lien Notices, Mechanics' Liens, Stop Notices, Bond Claims, Miller Act Notices, other related construction notices, the use of Easy Laws Website and/or the content thereon, and/or any other services rendered by Easy Law.  Any legal action against Easy Law must be filed in Ventura Superior Court in Ventura County, in the State of California to be decided in accordance with California State law. I hereby consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of and venue within the State of California for all disputes arising out of or relating to the use of this Website, Content, Information, and/or Easy Law Inc.'s services.  Please note that the maximum amount for which Easy Law will be liable for damages of any kind, including, but not limited to damages for breach of contract, fraud and/or negligence is $25.00.    

5. Please note that Easy Law provides its services with the understanding that it is not rendering legal, accounting, or other professional services. For such assistance, the services of a competent licensed professional should be sought. 

6. By signing this Agreement you are appointing Easy Law as attorney-in-fact to sign your Pre-Lien Notices, Mechanics' Liens, Stop Notices, Bond Claims, Miller Act Notices, Releases, other related claim notices, and to complete the required declarations of service on your behalf. 

7.  Easy Law will keep your completed notices for up to 2 years from the date your request for service is received.  Thereafter, your records will be destroyed without further notice.  If you would like your original records transferred to your office or to your attorney, please note that there is a $25.00 per notice charge to retrieve your documents and forward them in accordance with your instructions by certified mail.  
 
8.  If any part of these Terms and Conditions is determined to be invalid or unenforceable pursuant to applicable California law, then the invalid or unenforceable provisions will be deemed superseded by a valid, enforceable provision that most closely matches the intent of the original provision and the remainder of the Terms and Conditions shall continue in effect.        

9. This document embodies the entire Agreement between the Customer and Easy Law and any subsequent modifications must be accepted in writing by Easy Law. 

10. The Customer agrees to pay for the above-referenced services a sum to be calculated from invoices and billings generated on a monthly basis. Payment of the account is due upon receipt. The Customer agrees to pay a service charge of 1 1/2 % per month on balances still outstanding after 30 days (with a minimum charge of $5).  Please note that Easy Law's prices and Terms and Conditions are subject to change without notice.

11.  Please note that Easy Law processes a very large volume of notices throughout the United States and we are not always able to catch unintended duplicate requests for services.  As such, requests that are sent to us more than once may be treated as separate requests and go through normal processing and billing.   Additionally, please note that we cannot place service requests on hold; any such requests will be treated as a request to cancel and will be subject to a cancellation charge.    

12. In the event of default of payment, the Customer agrees to pay attorneys' fees and costs, if any part of this account is placed in the hands of an attorney for collection, whether or not court action is taken or a judgment is rendered.
